Etymology is sometimes genuinely disputed among linguists, and entries here are marked as such where that's the case. But if you spot something that looks like a plain mistake rather than a disputed origin, please tell us. It helps to include the name and its category, what looks wrong, and a source if you have one, such as a dictionary, encyclopedia, or scholarly article. Corrections that check out are fixed in the next update.
