Galatea

Greek · F
“she who is milk-white”
Where it comes from
gala (γάλα), 'milk'
Fun Fact
In Greek myth, Galatea was a sea-nymph, one of the Nereids. The name was attached to Pygmalion's ivory statue only much later, in the 18th century, since the original myth in Ovid leaves the statue unnamed.
